School workshop & 3 month internship with Lucie-lom

The following projects were carried out in my third year of Master in the course of a three month internship in Angers, France, with Lucie-lom (a fantasy stage design atelier producing many artistic installations).

There my work ranged from mud painting for “The Dreamers” installation to concept design and Phototshop montage of John Tenniel’s drawings for the exhibition “Alice in the playing cards kingdom” at the Museum of Playing Cards near Paris. The exhibition staging aimed at immersing the visitors into the chaos of a collapsed house of cards and thereby bringing them into the unreal world of Alice’s subconscious.

“Les rêveurs”, (the Dreamers) is one of Lucie-Lom’s main installations which moves from city to city; the fifty characters are placed in streets. Pensive and enigmatic they bring a new dimension to the urban landscape and invade the thoughts of the passersby.

The last project undertaken was initiated by Philippe Leduc (member of Lucie-lom) during a workshop at l’Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique.  Working in a group we had to imagine an exhibition staging for the venue, Lieu Unique in Nantes, which illustrated the travels of the two South Pole explorers, Scott and Amundsen.  We decided to highlight the contrasts between their routes and amplify the feeling of immensity which is tangible in Antarctic surroundings; this was achieved using extreme lighting effects and space fittings (dark to dazzling /confined to spacious).
